Worldline works and leads the COPA EUROPE project. It targets to create and innovate technologies in European sports events.

Also, Worldline Iberia’s R&D Manager Toni Paradell confirmed the project. He admitted that their goal is “to bring the most advanced technologies to the sports and eSports sector.”

It said that the project would employ blockchain and Artificial Intelligence technologies. Thus, it noted that the COPA EUROPE project would exhibit the power of high-tech environments for all sports.

Speaking of Worldline, it is a payment and transactional services firm. The location of the Worldline headquarters is in France.

Meanwhile, COPA EUROPE emphasized as “COllaborative Platform for trAnsmedia storytelling and cross channel distribution of EUROPEan sport events.” This project wants to bring Europe’s adoption of 5G connectivity.

On July 13, IBS Intelligence reported an update about the involvement of Worldline in the COPA EUROPE project. It stated that it is “under the auspices of the European Commission.”

According to the article, it is “for the generation, distribution, and consumption of advanced and personalized digital content.” Besides, the content will cover the field of sports and eSports.

In addition, Insider Sport revealed the Worldline’s disclosure about the connectivity project in Europe. It has gained support from eBos Cyprus, Ektacom France, Ektacom France, VITEC Germany, and IBM research.

Sports advancement thru blockchain and AI technologies

Regarding Blockchain technology, Worldline explained this matter. “Blockchain is a shared, immutable ledger,” the Worldline site stated. The transactional service company clarified ‘the ledger’. It means the record is unchangeable.

In this case, the ledger records transactions of all involved parties and industries. The site added that via ‘collection of shared, confirmed, encrypted data spread across geographic’ it could enhance transparency. Plus, it could lower ‘the transaction costs’ with the abolition of an intermediary.

Worldline will provide opportunities for sports and eSports fans as the center of the decision-making process. Well, sports broadcasting professionals are also part of it.

Moreover, IBM Intelligence mentioned that it is “for the purchase and sale of content.” The article also pointed out that blockchain technology could provide agreement on the terms and conditions in agile.

It could be used automatically and transparently. Lastly, it could maintain the option for the clients to unsubscribe anytime. In terms of Artificial Intelligence technologies, Worldline pointed out that its use is to generate personalized content tailored to clients’ preferences and needs.
