Spencer Official Trailer: Kristen Stewart as Princess Diana

The official trailer for Spencer has arrived.

Neon’s first trailer for “Spencer” lasted only one minute and featured only one brief line of dialogue from Kristen Stewart as Princess Diana.

Pablo Larran’s latest film is set over a single weekend, as Diana considers the end of her marriage to Prince Charles.

“Spencer” premiered to critical acclaim at the Venice Film Festival, where Stewart became an instant Oscar contender for Best Actress.

The official “Spencer” synopsis

“December 1991: The Prince and Princess of Wales’ marriage have long since grown cold. It is the official “Spencer” synopsis from Neon and Topic Studios, according to the report.

Despite rumors of extramarital affairs and divorce, the Christmas celebrations at Sandringham Estate are set to be peaceful. There’s drinking and eating, as well as shooting and hunting. Diana is well-versed in the game. “Things will be much different this year.”

Stewart has proven her talents during a long and illustrious career that includes David Fincher’s “Panic Room”. Also, the blockbuster “Twilight” trilogy, as well as respected art films like Olivier Assayas’ “Personal Shopper” and “Clouds of Sils Maria.”

Stewart Signed on for Spencer before reading the script

Kristen revealed earlier this month at the Toronto International Film Festival that she signed on for “Spencer” before even reading the script. It was written by “Locke” screenwriter Steven Knight.

“[Pablo] called me,” Stewart explained. “At first, I hadn’t read the script, and he proposed this idea and said he was doing this weird tone poem about Diana. He asked if I would be interested in tackling the subject at all before sending the script. Without thinking, and very irresponsibly, I said, ‘Yes, absolutely.’ Right before I was about to say, in a word, yes or no, I thought to myself, ‘Who are you if you don’t say yes?'”

Stewart went on to say that she usually approaches a part with the mindset of “believe me, I can do this.” But she “didn’t have that” when she agreed to work with Larran. “I could have really screwed it up,” the actress added.

“Spencer” will debut in cinemas on November 5th, according to Neon.
