South Korean automaker Hyundai will drop 30 limited unique virtual items.


Hyundai Motor: First global automaker to drop community-based NFTs

Hyundai Motor, a global automaker based in South Korea, will jump into the market of non-fungible tokens. It will mark the first carmaker to issue community-based NFTs.

It added in a press release that Hyundai has issued a short film Monday presenting the company’s ‘Metamobility Universe’. The film concept depicts the ‘Metamobility’ which unfolded at Consumers Electronics Show 2022.

Mercedes-Benz, McLaren, and Lamborghini are among the global carmakers that have released unique and limited NFT collections.

Hyundai Motor, however, will issue community-based NFTs. Whoever owns Hyundai’s blockchain-based digital items will be part of its metaverse community. 

The South Korean automaker has partnered with the ‘Meta Kongz’ NFT brand. It will drop 30 limited unique virtual items, marking the release of its short film today that shows Hyundai and ‘Meta Kongz’ collaboration.

According to a press release, the company will issue the Hyundai x MetaKongz NFT on April 20. “Profits from the sale of Hyundai NFTs will be used for the project’s management and community members,” the release stated.

Automaker’s NFT website will be launched soon

Global CMO of Hyundai Motor Thomas Schemera said that the company’s NFT Universe would be a new way to expand its brand for Millennial and  Zoomer generations. Also, it would strengthen its “commitment to innovation in both the real world and in the metaverse”.

 “We are extremely excited to introduce ‘Metamobility’ through our own NFTs and start this journey with ‘Meta Kongz’,” Schemers added. 

The automaker’s NFT community will drop digital items portraying the car brand’s mobility solutions. Besides, Hyundai NFT channels are on Discord and Twitter since April 15.

But, the company’s official NFT website will be launched in May. Its social media channels and website platform are available 24/7 for the Hyundai NFT community. Providing ‘real-time updates on the asset value of its NFTs’ is the purpose of these channels.
