Animoca Brands obtains Australian marketing arm to expand in Metaverse, NFT

Animoca Brands, a Hong Kong-based blockchain gaming company, bought Be Media, a digital agency based in Australia. 

According to the report of a local media outlet, Be Media will function as the marketing arm of Animoca. It is in charge of digital strategy and social advertising. 

Investing more in NFT and Metaverse

Diving deeper into NFT and metaverse seems the aim of Animoca. It has invested in more than 170 NFT-related companies including decentralized projects. 

Based on reports, the blockchain gaming company has established a partnership with Axie Infinity, Dapper Labs, Immutable, OpenSea, and The Sandbox.

Several companies are still on the list. This includes South Korean entertainment agency Cube, behind the Kpop girl group (G)I-dle, and the boy band BTOB. 

In mid-November 2021, Forbes reported the partnership between Animoca and Cube Entertainment. The collaboration has added the increasing list of celebrities who jump into the NFT market. 

As for the latest acquisition, Animoca said the move would permit the company “to extend its core capabilities to support the Australian market and beyond”. 

“There are tremendous opportunities in Australia and the acquisition of Be Media will enhance our ability to work with companies that wish to participate in the exciting opportunities presented by the emerging open metaverse,” the blockchain gaming company added. 

Animoca’s newest acquisition

The blockchain gaming firm aims to take further risks on its non-fungible tokens and metaverse.  Thus, Be Media will help the gaming company to be a front entity in Australia for its NFT and Metaverse projects.

Another function of the acquired digital firm is to assist the gaming company to ink deals or partnerships with other leading Australian companies. This will be possible through utilizing Animoca’s existing IP and its decentralized products.

Currently, the Australian digital agency starts hiring individuals who are experts in the fields of blockchain development and project management. Meanwhile, Be Media CEO Jordan Fogarty will keep his position. 

“I’m honoured to have the opportunity to support cherished Australian brands who want to explore opportunities in this space and introduce their customers to the metaverse, NFTs, and the power of digital property rights,” Fogarty stated.

“When I started Be Media in 2013, I did so based on the power of digital to create massive and scalable impact. The ways in which we create that impact has evolved and been refined over the last eight years,” he pointed out.

 “In joining the Animoca Brands family we will be able to make that impact global and lasting,” Fogarty added.
