2 largest hotel chains in Asia build properties in metaverse
Asia's largest hotel chains have ventured into the metaverse.
04/30/2022

Asia’s leading hotel organizations, Millennium Hotel & Resorts and Regal Hotels Group, have constructed billion-dollar digital properties in the metaverse.
The two largest hotel chains in Asia-Pacific have built territories on Decentraland and The Sandbox, Forbes reported.
Luxury Hotel in Metaverse
Kwek Leng Beng is a Singaporean billionaire magnate and executive chairman of Millennium Hotels & Resorts’ City Development. This global development hospitality brand will build a hotel in a metaverse platform Decetraland.
According to a report, M Social Decentraland is the name of Millennium Hotels & Resorts’ virtual reality hotel in the metaverse. May 2022 is its official opening.
Visitors of the virtual hotel have to converse with the avatars, the tour guides in the digital buildings. The avatars may also introduce opportunities “to win real-world hotel surprises.”
“We hope to redefine hospitality through M Social Decentraland by creating online adventures that integrate with real-life events,” Kwek stated.

Green Metropolis in Metaverse
Meanwhile, billionaire Lo family in Hong Kong owns the Regal Hotels Group. Their hotel chain enters the blockchain platform The Sandbox and constructs MetaGreens.
On Twitter, the announcement stated that MetaGreens is a green city that will be the first Green Metropolis in space.
MetaGreens is promoting eco-friendly solutions with a sustainable society to support a circular economy and will be open in October 2022.
Aside from the hotel, a shopping mall will be available in the virtual eco-friendly city. Regal Hotels also partners with Hang Seng Bank and other retail brands.
Other establishments in the virtual city include an academy, conventional center, art gallery, and eco-farm.
